Laura Soprana-Dec is a MCLE Provider accredited by the State Bar of California (Provider No. 20754) and an employment law attorney and legal educator with nearly eight years of experience advising employers, litigating workplace disputes, and conducting workplace investigations across a range of industries.

Ms. Soprana-Dec earned her Juris Doctor cum laude from the University of California, Irvine School of Law. During law school, she received the Faculty Award for highest academic performance in both Business Associations and the Immigrant Rights Clinic, as well as the Dean’s Award in International Trade & Investment Law. She also holds a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Communication and Tourism Management from the University of Verona, Italy, both cum laude, with concentrations in English and German.

In private practice, Ms. Soprana-Dec practiced at Jackson Lewis P.C., where she focused on employment litigation, internal workplace investigations, and compliance counseling for employers. Earlier in her legal career, she advised international companies at Valla Morrison & Schachne on employment law, business immigration, and cross-border transactions, including employment regulatory compliance.

Before entering the legal profession, Ms. Soprana-Dec worked as Director of the Work and Travel Program at ASSE International Student Exchange Programs, overseeing U.S. Department of State-regulated cultural exchange programs for university students from Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

A native of Italy and a member of the State Bar of California, Ms. Soprana-Dec brings a practical, compliance-driven perspective to employment law education. She is currently serving as A/P faculty at George Mason Law School, where she teaches, designs practice-focused curriculum, and mentors law students and graduates preparing for professional practice and licensure.
